Chances of Getting Pregnant Before, During And After Period

Chances of Getting Pregnant During Period

So, the technical scientific answer to this question is anything is possible and one out of a million women could be one of them but it'd be very very unlikely. If you know the menstrual period and the ups and downs and eggs popping out and stuff like that the reason that you got your period or your bleed is because the egg popped out and didn't encounter any sperm so the body's like okay and then it's sluffs on that lining that you did it.

Chances of Getting Pregnant Before, During And After Period

If you're bleeding then it would be very hard for the egg and sperm to hook up and then stick to something because the stuff is just bleeding and trying to clear out. So, the likelihood of you getting pregnant on a full bleed is very low.

But, if it's like some light spotting then that could actually be the bleeding of implantation. So, when the egg and the sperm hook up together and they stick to the side of the wall it's sticking, but maybe that caused a couple drops of blood to come out and that's called implantation bleeding. Someone might think that's my period but actually it is the implantation bleeding. So, you could be pregnant during a period which isn't really a period.

For example, if your cycle is only about 21 to 24 days, you could have a premature ovulation with the sperms still inside you for a good three to five days the sperm can have its date with the egg.  The chances of such a date leading on to pregnancies are only about 1%.

At any time, you think that you have any symptoms of pregnancy like you have missed a period, your period is lighter or your breasts are hurting or stuff, you start barfing in the morning and never had a pregnancy test go see a doctor. Always assume that it's possible to get pregnant and if you really don't want to get pregnant use a condom plus a hormonal method then you got a double method going on there which means double the protection.

Theoretically it's possible to get pregnant on a full-on period but very very unlike and most likely it would be like one out of a million case or it would be not a real period.

Chances of Getting Pregnant Before Period

So, you want to know the chances of getting pregnant before period if you had an intercourse a few days before your period. A woman is fertile for six days each month, five days leading up to ovulation and on the date of ovulation. Ovulation typically happens around 12 to 16 days before the woman's next period is about to start. So, ultimately it depends on how long your cycles are and a normal cycle length can be somewhere between 25 to 35 days in length from the beginning of one period to the start of the next one.

So, let's say that your periods are around 28 days long which means that your fertile window might essentially begin on day 7 or if you were to ovulate on day 16 that fertile window would start on the day 11 and since you don't know accurately when you're ovulating it's not a flawless science it can happen a slightly earlier or later than the normal or what you guess. The best thing to assume is that you might get pregnant any time after your period ends through a few days past the midpoint of your cycle. So, again if your cycles are 28 days long, the center is day 14 and add a couple of days to that and just make that your fertile window from the moment your period ends until a few days past the mid days of your cycle.

But if you only had sex in the couple of days earlier to when your period starts then it's not a possibility for pregnancy to result from such a case. In addition, if you have a regular period then it's very safe to say you're not pregnant at all because pregnant women have no periods. Actually the first indication of pregnancy is a missed period, so if that day ever comes when your period should have started but it hasn't and you've had intercourse during those days that could perhaps fall within your fertile days then you should either rule out or confirm pregnancy as the cause by taking a pregnancy test. If the first test turns out to be negative then wait about a week and if you still haven't started a normal period then take another pregnancy test and if you're again seeing negative results about two weeks from the time your period should have begun it's safe to say pregnancy isn't the probable cause.

If you're not pregnant but you did miss a period then keep track of your bleeding patterns. If you go three months without any period or you have noticing in between periods related with intercourse or you're facing heavy bleeding, any bleeding patterns that are uncommon to you call your doctor.
